Dental Implants

Even a single missing tooth can cause jawbone deterioration and make it difficult to eat and speak.

Dental implants act as tooth roots in the jawbone to support restorations and improve your oral function.

Reiner Family Dental in Vero Beach, FL, can coordinate your care, giving you a beautiful smile with dental implants and restorations.

What Are Dental Implants?

Implant-supported crown

Implants are titanium posts that are surgically inserted directly into your jawbone. Implants act as prosthetic tooth roots, providing your jaw with the stimulation it needs to keep the bone healthy. Once the implants are placed, they are given about three to six months to heal and fuse to the bone in a process called osseointegration. Abutments are then attached to the implants so a custom restoration, such as a crown, denture, or dental bridge, can be secured directly to the implant. Because your crown, bridge, or denture is attached to the implant, you can enjoy maximum stability and live your life without fear of your restoration slipping out of place.

See How Implants Are Placed

A titanium post is surgically placed in your jawbone. The implant is then given time to fuse to the jawbone before an abutment and custom restoration are secured to the implant.

Implant Restorations

Your implants can support a variety of restorations to replace your teeth above the gumline. Our Vero Beach, FL, dentistry practice offers:

Implant-supported crown

Dental Crowns

An implant-supported crown can replace a single missing tooth.

Implant-supported bridge

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is used to replace up to three consecutive missing teeth. A bridge can be supported on either side by a dental implant.

Implant-supported dentures

Dentures

Full dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Partial dentures are often used when a patient has four consecutive missing teeth along a dental arch or widespread tooth loss.

Initial Consultation

Dr. Bradley Reiner will examine your mouth, discuss your oral health history, and ask about your goals to determine if you are a candidate for dental implants. If he decides that implants are right for you, he will refer you to a trusted local periodontist to place your implants.

Implant Placement

During your implant placement procedure with the periodontist, you will be numbed with a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. Sedation options may be available for those who have dental anxiety. The dental implant will be surgically inserted into the jawbone and given time to heal and fuse to the bone. Healing time is approximately three to six months.

Abutment Placement

Once your implant has fused to your jawbone, an abutment will be attached to the implant. Your gums will then need about four to six weeks to heal before we can attach your final restoration.

Restoration

Using impressions of your mouth, a custom restoration, such as a crown, bridge, or denture, will be crafted. Once it is complete, you can return to our Vero Beach office and our dentist will secure it to the implant.

Enjoy Your New Smile

Your new implant-supported restoration will function just like your natural teeth. You can eat the foods you love and speak with confidence knowing your restoration will remain secured to your dental implants.

Sedation Is Available

If You Need Preparatory Treatment

We understand that some patients are nervous about dental treatment and others may have circumstances that make it difficult to sit for long periods of time. If you require preparatory treatment like extractions, sedation options are available. Affordable Financing for Your Dental Implants

We accept most insurance providers at our Vero Beach practice. While insurance plans won't cover dental implants, they may contribute to the cost of your crown, bridge, or denture. To make treatment more affordable, we offer CareCredit® financing, a payment option that allows patients to break up their payments into monthly installments with low or no interest for those who qualify.
