Laser Dentistry

If a noisy dental drill makes you avoid treatment, finding a dentist who uses laser dentistry can reduce your fear.

Dr. Bradley H. Reiner of Reiner Family Dentistry in Vero Beach, FL, can use laser dentistry to minimize pain and healing time.

Let's take a closer look at how our dentist can improve your cosmetic and restorative dentistry experience using lasers...

Reducing Dental Anxiety  With Laser Dentistry

Many people avoid dentists due to dental anxiety caused by a fear of pain. Whenever possible, Dr. Reiner uses laser dentistry to keep the smiles of his Vero Beach, FL, patients healthy, because laser treatment can greatly reduce discomfort and the need for novocaine injections.

Dr. Reiner is certified to perform laser gum surgery using the state-of-the-art Periolase® laser, and can enhance the health and appearance of your smile through many other laser dentistry treatments.

6 More Benefits of Laser Dentistry

Number one

A More Pleasant Experience

No scary noises, less pressure, and no unpleasant burning smells.

Number two

Reduced Infection Risk

Our lasers sterilize the procedure area as they work, killing bacteria in the process.

Number three

Conservative Treatment

The accuracy of laser dentistry means less healthy tissue is disturbed during treatment.

Number four

Reduced Bleeding

Scalpels used in dental treatments cause a lot of bleeding. Dr. Reiner's lasers cauterize incisions during treatment, so bleeding is greatly reduced.

Number five

No Sutures

The cauterizing effect also means you probably won't need sutures, or a second visit to our Vero Beach, FL, practice to have sutures removed.

Number six

Faster Recovery

Laser treatment can stimulate tissue to grow back faster while reducing post-procedure pain and inflammation.

Dental Lasers are Extremely Versatile

Dr. Reiner in Vero Beach can use various types of advanced laser technology to perform:
Close up of before and after whitening

Teeth Whitening

Dr. Reiner uses the in-office LaserSmile Whitening System to brighten your smile. The laser activates a special bleaching gel that is applied to the teeth, breaking up external stain molecules. This cosmetic dentistry treatment only takes about 45 minutes, and provides long-lasting results.

LANAP gum disease treatment

Gum Disease Treatment

Dr. Reiner is certified to eliminate infected gum tissue with the Periolase laser. The laser also kills any bacteria in the procedure area and encourages healthy gum tissue to grow and replace diseased tissue. No scalpels or sutures are needed. Full recovery can take place in 24 hours. Traditional surgery can take a few weeks of recovery.

DIAGNOdent laser

Cavity Detection

Dr. Reiner can use a DIAGNOdent laser to precisely locate tooth decay. This method finds decay early, before any visible signs can be seen on a patient's teeth and before painful symptoms occur. This makes treatment to remove the cavity less invasive and less painful.

Waterlase laser machine

Other Dental Treatments

Our Waterlase® laser uses air, water, and laser energy to evaporate and sterilize hard and soft dental tissue. Dr. Reiner in Vero Beach can use Waterlase to remove tooth decay before placing a filling or crown, or to improve a "gummy" smile through gum contouring. Waterlase can also make root canals, cold sore treatment, dental implant surgery, and wisdom teeth surgery more precise and comfortable.

Can Laser Dentistry Be Used for All Dental Procedures?

Laser dentistry is versatile, but it has limitations. For example, our lasers cannot remove an existing crown or filling, or treat a tooth that has an extremely large cavity. In these cases, Dr. Reiner will discuss more traditional methods to restore your smile, with your comfort being his first priority. During your consultation at our Vero Beach office, he can recommend the best treatment approach based on your needs.
